Pappu Yadav made 670 calls from Beur jail in Nov Sunday, December 12 2004 16:12 Hrs (IST) - World Time

The print out of calls of the mobile phone seized from controversial RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) MP Rajesh Rajan alias Pappu Yadav during raids on Beur jail has revealed that a total 670 calls were made in November i.e. about 22 calls a day.
As per the print out of the calls from mobile phone number 3126926, 284 calls where made in the first fortnight of the month and 386 calls where made in the second fortnight.
The phone, registered in the name of the MP's sister Anita Ranjan, was found hidden in Yadav's shoe on Dec 8, 2004 in the jail in a prison administration crack down on criminals running kidnapping and extortion activities from behind the bars.
The print out of the calls made by the Madhepura MP revealed that he had talks with Bihar Jail Minister Raghvendra Pratap Singh and many other Ministers of the Rabri Devi Cabinet, including Irrigation Minister Jagdanand Singh and Minister of State for Power Shyam Razak, from inside Beur jail, where he is lodged in connection with murder of CPM (Communist Party of India-Marxist) MLA Ajit Sarkar in 1998.
The calls lasted from half-a-minute to 20 minutes, the printout showed.
Calls were also made from the seized mobile phone to Yadav's wife and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) MP from Saharsa, Ranjeeta Ranjan.
Many officials in Madhepura, Saharsa and elsewhere were also contacted from the same phone, as per the print out which was made available to the press in Patna by the jail authorities.
