Chandraswami's plea to travel abroad rejected Monday, December 13 2004 18:03 Hrs (IST) - World Time
New Delhi:
A Delhi court today (Dec 13, 2004) dismissed self-styled Godman Chandraswami's application seeking permission to travel abroad.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Ravinder Dudeja dismissed the application of Chandraswami against whom the CBI claimed it had "collected evidence" of his role in the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
Chandraswami, who is facing FERA (Foreign Exchange Regulation Act) violation charges, had sought permission from the Court to go abroad for two months. However, both the Enforcement Directorate, which has charged him and CBI, opposed the plea.
