Supreme Court to be moved for bail in Seer case Monday, December 13 2004 09:42 Hrs (IST) - World Time
Vellore:
A legal team will move the Supreme Court for bail for Kanchi Sankararacharya Jayendra Saraswathi in a couple of days in the Sankararaman murder case, the Seer's counsel, K S Dinakaran, said yesterday (Dec 12, 2004).
Speaking to newsmen after calling on the Seer at the central jail in Vellore this evening for about 20 minutes, he said that an advocate, Subramaniam and himself would move the High Court for appeal in the Radhakrishnan assault case shortly.
Dinakaran said he had so far not received copies of the directions of the Principal Sessions Court in connection with the Radhakrishnan assault case. On receipt of it, "We will move the court for bail."
"We will talk about it when we face the situation" was his reply when asked about the likelihood of more cases being filed against the Seer, Jayendra Saraswathi.
Asked why the Junior Pontiff, Vijayendra Saraswathi had so far not called on his jailed senior, Dinakaran said there was no need for it as "he (junior Seer) is always thinking about his senior".
