Casualty feared in bomb blast by ULFA in Morigaon Tuesday, December 14 2004 19:12 Hrs (IST) - World Time

At least two people were feared killed and 22 others, six of them seriously, when a powerful bomb planted by ULFA (United Liberation Front of Assam) militants exploded at the busy daily market of Morigaon township of central Assam today (Dec 14, 2004).
The bomb exploded at the time when a huge crowd of people were engaged in purchasing essentials from the market, the police said.
Initial reports said two people might have been killed but details were awaited as the entire area had been cordoned off by the police and the Army.
The daily market is only metres away from the offices of the Deputy Commissioner and the Superintendent of Police.
The injured have been rushed to the Morigaon civil hospital.
This is the second explosion in quick succession after two people were killed and eight others hurt in an explosion by ULFA militants in Hatigaon in the city in Guwahati last night (Dec 13, 2004).
