Kolkata: Birlas today (Dec 16, 2004) filed an application at the Calcutta High Court for appointment of an administrator for M P Birla group assets.

The application has been filed to take control of the M P Birla group assets worth Rs 5000 crore from R S Lodha, Birla sources said.

The matter would come up for hearing next Tuesday (Dec 21, 2004).

Birlas and Lodha were engaged in a bitter legal battle for control of the city-based group.
