Kanchi case: Accused Appu's car produced in court Thursday, December 16 2004 22:11 Hrs (IST) - World Time

The Special Investigating Team (SIT), probing the Sankararaman murder case, today (Dec 16, 2004) produced before a court in Kancheepuram a Ford Ikon car of a key accused in the murder case, Appu A Krishnaswami, who is absconding, police said.
They also showed some documents to the judicial magistrate G Uthamaraja to support their claim, police said.
One of the team of the defence counsels for the Kanchi Mutt Revathi said the police raided the Mutt's trust for over five hours only after which they issued the search warrant to the Mutt authorities yesterday.
The police took with them 12 documents including visitors' book, day books, resolution copies of the trust meetings and receipt books, Revathi told reporters.
The Chief Pontiff of the Kanchi Mutt Sri Jayendra Saraswathi is in the Vellore Central prison after being arrested in connection with the murder of a Kancheepuram temple official Sankararaman who was found murdered on Sep 3.
