ULFA claims blasts are work of 'secret killers' Thursday, December 16 2004 12:42 Hrs (IST) - World Time
Guwahati:
The banned ULFA (United Liberation front of Assam) has denied its involvement in the Morigaon and Nagaon blasts, which claimed three lives and left more than 50 injured.
ULFA commander-in-chief Paresh Barua in an e-mail statement faxed to the local media in Guwahati last night (Dec 15, 2004) said that they were not involved in these blasts and termed them as the handiwork of 'secret killers' working at the behest of the State intelligence.
The blasts were carried out by the State intelligence to give credence to their announcements that ULFA will indulge in subversive activities between December 13 and 15, he said.
Barua warned the State intelligence Chief to refrain from such activities and also offered his condolences to the blast victims.
A series of blasts have rocked Assam since Monday (Dec 13, 2204) killing five people and injuring more than sixty.
