New Delhi: Baazee.com CEO Avnish Bajaj, who was arrested yesterday (Dec 18, 2004) in connection with the DPS MMS scandal case, was produced before a Delhi Court this afternoon.

Delhi Police have sought judicial custody of Bajaj, who has moved a bail application for his release.

After hearing the prosecution and the accused, Metropolitan Magistrate Nivedita Anil Sharma reserved its order, which was likely to be pronounced later in the day.

Interestingly, a public prosecutor initially told the court that the police had no objection to the accused being released on bail but later another public prosecutor came and submitted that they were only conceding that Bajaj had been co-operating in the investigation of the case.

"We are seeking his judicial custody," the second prosecutor clarified.
