No idea of re-evaluating my decision: Govindacharya
Sunday, December 19 2004 13:05 Hrs (IST) - World Time

New Delhi: Former BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) ideologue K Govindacharya today (Dec 19, 2004) ruled out any "re-think or re-evaluation" of his 2003 decision to quit active politics and not to take membership of any political party, including BJP.

"In 2003 April, I had taken a conscious decision in a positive frame of mind that I will remain a RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) volunteer throughout my life, I will have full faith in integral humanism enunciated by Jan Sangh founder late Deen Dayal Upadhyaya and I will not take membership of any political party, including BJP," he told sources in New Delhi an interview.

The swadeshi ideologue declined to comment on reports that BJP President L K Advani had hinted about his return to the party fold.

He asserted Advani had not made any such offer and hence, there was no reason for him to comment on it.

"I had taken a decision not to become part of any party or power politics. There is no reason why I should change it. "I am satisfied with the path I have taken and there is no need to re-think or re-evaluate my decision," the former BJP general secretary and spokesman, who had quit the party following differences with then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, said.

Advani had said yesterday in Coimbatore that he had not said anything about the "admission or re-admission" of Govindacharya into the party.
