HC issues notice to police on Bajaj's bail plea Monday, December 20 2004 14:44 Hrs (IST) - World Time
New Delhi:
The Delhi High Court today (Dec 20, 2004) issued notice to the City Police on the bail petition of Bazee.com CEO Avnish Bajaj, arrested in connection with Delhi Public School MMS scandal.
Vacation Judge, Justice Vikramjit Sen, issued the notice to the Delhi Police on Bajaj's petition while posting the application for further hearing to tomorrow (Dec 21, 2004).
Bajaj's bail plea was rejected by a Delhi Court on Saturday and he was sent to jail in judicial custody for six days.
Bajaj was arrested on Friday with police claiming that Baazee.com listed the DPS MMS clip on its site under the title 'DPS Girl Having Fun' for sale on November 24 and that the CEO did not make any effort to remove it until prodded.
Bajaj had sought his release on bail on the ground that he had been cooperating with the police in the probe.
