Lok Sabha okays Supplementary Demands for Grants

New Delhi: Lok Sabha today (Dec 21, 2004) passed the Supplementary Demands for Grants for additional expenditure of Rs 38,622 crore for the current financial year.

The relevant appropriation bills were passed by voice vote after Finance Minister P Chidambaram said the additional funds were required to implement schemes which constituted priorities of the UPA (United Progressive Alliance) Government in fields of education, mid-day meal, food-for-work, health and agriculture sectors.
