Fake currency worth Rs 46 lakh seized, 4 arrested

New Delhi: Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has seized fake currency with the face value of Rs 46 lakh sent from Pakistan for circulation in the country and arrested four persons, including two Bangladeshi nationals, in New Delhi.

The seizure and the arrests were made at a hotel in Paharganj area of central Delhi last evening, where the Bangladeshi nationals, including a woman, were handing over the consignment to their two Indian contacts, a DRI official told reporters.

The Bangladeshi nationals, identified as Mohammad Rashid and Nurun Nahar Lovely, have told DRI interrogators that the consignment had been by Pakistani operators, the official said.
