Bakery re-trial: Zaheera deposes in narrative form
Wednesday, December 22 2004 15:12 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Mumbai: In a departure from normal practice, a special court today (Dec 22, 2004) allowed prime witness in Best Bakery carnage case, Zaheera Sheikh to make her deposition in a narrative form to facilitate the recording of evidence.

Spotlight: Godhra-Chilling stories of the victims

This has been done following Zaheera's repeated improper answers, which was taking a considerable long time for recording evidence.

Normally a witness replies to questions put by the prosecution during examination-in-chief but in this case Zaheera has been asked to narrate her version instead of responding to prosecution's questions.
