'Zaheera was paid Rs 18 lakhs to turn hostile'

New Delhi: Tehelka.com, today (Dec 22, 2004) claimed that relatives of a Gujarat BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) MLA Madhu Srivastava had bribed Zaheera Sheikh to change her testimony in the Best Bakery case.

Tehelka.com the portal that made waves in India, a few years ago, by its high-profile sting operation exposing the Defence scam, claims that the MLA's relatives had narrated to Tehelka that they have paid Rs 18 lakhs to prime witness Zaheera Sheikh.

Tehelka screened a film in its press conference held today, which showed Madhu's relatives speaking about how money was paid to Zaheera Sheikh.
