No directive to CBI to reopen Ayodhya case: PMO
Thursday, December 23 2004 10:28 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: The Prime Minister's Office last night (Dec 22, 2004) said that it has not issued any directive to CBI on the "reopening" of the Babri Masjid demolition case against BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) chief L K Advani.

"The Prime Minister's Office has not issued any directive to CBI. There is no communication between PMO and CBI on this matter," a PMO spokesman said reacting to BJP's charge that PMO was "misusing" CBI by writing to the investigating agency to "reopen" the case against Advani.

He said, "It is only a letter from the PMO to Secretary, Personnel Department, seeking information on these cases."
