Probe against Reliance for info on sex of baby

New Delhi: A Delhi court today (Dec 23, 2004) asked the Special Cell of Delhi Police to investigate a complaint filed by Directorate of Family Welfare against Reliance Infocomm Ltd, its Board of Directors and its franchisees, accusing them of violating the law by providing information on pre-natal test for determination of the sex of a baby on its website.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Reena Singh Nag asked the SHO (Special Cell) to submit a report in this regard by Feb 4, 2005.

The advertisement was found on Reliance Infocomm website http://rworld.relianceinfo.com/RWorld/html/whatsnew/womansworld_home.html/.
