Soren's discharge petition hearing fixed in January
Thursday, December 23 2004 14:46 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Jamatara (Jharkhand): Hearing of discharge petition filed by Union Minister Shibu Soren in connection with the 1975 Chirrudih massacre today (Dec 23, 2004) remained inconclusive at a local court in Jamatara, Jharkhand.

After hearing for two days, Additional District Judge (fast track) U N Mishra, fixed the next hearing on January 3, 4 and 5, 2005.

A discharge petition has been filed claiming the case against Soren does not carry any merit.

Supreme Court lawyer Barun Kumar Sinha represented the JMM (Jharkhand Mukti Morcha) chief in the case.

Soren, one of the accused in the Chirrudih incident, had to surrender before the court on August 2, 2004, after a non-bailable warrant was served against him.
