BJP preparing to revoke suspension of Uma Bharti Friday, December 24 2004 10:08 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
With the Winter Session of Parliament coming to a close, BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) is all set to turn its attention to organisational truths controlling the revocation of the suspension of firebrand leader Uma Bharti.
The party has deferred its decision on revoking the disciplinary action against Uma after a letter purportedly written by her to party president L K Advani criticising almost the entire second rung leadership published in a Hindi news magazine.
The decks for her re-induction were cleared after she expressed regrets for daring Advani to act against her at the November 10 meeting of the party central office bearers.
Following the party's advice to exercise restraint, Bharti left for Chennai to meet the jailed Kanchi Shankaracharya and thereafter spent two days down south with Pejewar Swami before returning to Bhopal.
With its party leaders free from the hectic Parliamentary activities, BJP is also expected to draw up its battle strategy for the coming Assembly elections, Bihar, Jharkhand and Haryana.
