Kancheepuram: Sundaresa Iyer, manager of the Kanchi Sankara Mutt was tonight (Dec 24, 2004) arrested by the police in connection with Sankaraman murder and Radhakrishnan assault cases.

Iyer was being interrogated, police sources said tonight while confirming the arrest.

Earlier, in the evening Iyer was summoned by the police for questioning.

Jayendra Saraswathi, Shankaracharya of Kanchi Mutt had already been arrested in connection with the two cases.

Iyer was considered to be a close aid of the arrested Seer and had been meeting him in the Vellore prison on alternative days.
