Junior Seer told to appear after 'thri kaala pooja' Saturday, December 25 2004 20:46 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Kancheepuram:
In a new twist to the Sankararaman murder case, in which the Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswathi is the main accused, the special team investigating the case has summoned the junior Seer, Vijayendra Saraswathi, to appear before it at 2.00 hrs (IST) tomorrow (Dec 26, 2004).
The Kanchi Mutt's advocates, Chellappa and Thyagarajan told reporters that though the junior Seer was earlier directed to appear before the team at 10 hrs (IST) tomorrow, police later informed the Mutt that he could appear at 2.00 hrs (IST), after performing the 'thri kaala poojas' (the schedule of three poojas from early morning to afternoon, mandatory on 'Dhanur Masyas', to be performed this month), as requested by the Mutt.
As the Mutt had expressed the Seer's inconvenience to appear at 10 hrs (IST) tomorrow, the police replied that Vijeyendra Saraswathi could perform all his pujas and then appear for interrogation after 2 hrs (IST), the advocates told reporters later this evening.
Asked whether they had tried to find out from the police, the nature of information required, the advocates said they had not done so and that Vijayendra Saraswathi was not worried about the interrogations.
