Chennai: Chairman of T V Sundram Iyengar and Sons (TVS) Ltd R Ramachandran died yesterday (Dec 24, 2004) in Madurai after brief illness.

Ramachandran, 74, died at his residence, company sources said in Chennai today (Dec 25, 2004). He is survived by wife, daughter and three sons.

Ramachandran was on the board of a number of TVS group companies, including the Sundaram Industries and Sundaram Finance.

Ramachandran, who made rich contributions to the growth of the group, was the son of late T S Rajam and grandson of founder of the group T V Sundaram Iyengar.
