BJP hopes Uma works in an 'appropriate manner' Saturday, December 25 2004 17:33 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Bhopal:
BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) in Madhya Pradesh today (Dec 25, 2004) said suspension of party leader Uma Bharti was revoked after she "apologised" for her behaviour and it is expected that she works for the party in an "appropriate manner".
"Revocation of Bharti's suspension would certainly strengthen party's State unit. We now expect her to work in an appropriate manner," State party unit president Kailash Joshi told a press conference after his arrival in Bhopal from New Delhi.
"Bharti had apologised for her behaviour following which the party president took the decision," he said however adding, "The discussions took place in Delhi and only BJP president L K Advani would be able to elaborate on the conditions under which the decision was taken to revoke
suspension of the fiery sanyasin."
Stating that BJP, under present political circumstances, requires inputs from her, the BJP State president asked Bharti to work in her full capacity for party's benefit.
Ruling out possibilities of her return as Chief Minister, Joshi said, "Gaur will continue holding the post."
On whether Gaur would complete his term as Chief Minister, he said, "A life is of 100 years. But, we don't know what will happen next."
