Rajasthan Government today (Dec 29, 2004) announced Rs two crore and Rs one crore assistance to Tamil Nadu and Andaman-Nicobar Islands for quake relief works.
Blankets, clothes and other daily necessity items were also being sent to the affected people, an official spokesman said in Jaipur.
Meanwhile, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, a member of the Assembly, announced to donate a month's salary for relief work.
The Uttaranchal Governor Sudarshan Agarwal yesterday (Dec 28, 2004) announced a personal contribution of Rs one lakh to the Prime Minister's relief fund for the Tsunami disaster victims.
Expressing grief over the loss of lives in the tragedy, he appealed to the people of the State, including social and voluntary organisations, to contribute generously towards relief and rehabilitation of the affected people, a Raj Bhavan release said.
