Baby who survived named after disastrous Tsunami

Alapuzha: Tsunami may be associated with death and destruction following the havoc it caused on Sunday last (Dec 26, 2004).

But a couple in Kerala's Alapuzha district has named their new born baby girl as Tsunami following her miraculous escape from the killer waves.

Kutten and Priyanka of Valiyazheekal in Alapuzha district, where several persons have been killed by the waves, decided to name their child after the killer waves as their new born was left unscathed.

Baby Tsunami's naming ceremony was conducted yesterday (Dec 31, 2004) at the Kayamkulam Government hospital. The baby's mother is undergoing treatment at the hospital for the injuries suffered by her in the waves.

Priyanka and her daughter were rescued by a relative when the waves struck their home.
