The topography of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands have been affected by earthquake and the killer Tsunami as a number of beaches have vanished and an island has been cut into two.
Water level at many areas has risen. Beautiful sea beaches and many islands like Campbell Bay, have disappeared, Lt Gen B S Thakur, spokesman of the Integrated Relief Command in Port Blair said.
Trinket Island has been cut into two, Lt Governor Ram Kapse said.
The entire Car Nicobar, which was worst affected, has sunk to some extent, station commander of IAF station at Car Nicobar, Group Captain V V Bandopadhyay, said.
Even in and around Port Blair, water level of the sea has come up at many places like Bambooflat Island.
