New Delhi: BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) today (Jan 4, 2005) cleared the names of 39 candidates for contesting next month's elections to 90-member Haryana Assembly, party sources said.

The names were approved at separate meetings of the party's Parliamentary Board and Election Committee.

The meetings, chaired by party president L K Advani, were attended among others by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, M Venkaiah Naidu, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley and Ganeshi Lal.
