Laloo, Rabri present hefty cheques to PM for victims

New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today (Jan 4, 2005) received Rs 10 crore from the Railways as contribution to the PM's National Relief Fund for providing relief to Tsunami affected people.

Railway Minister Laloo Prasad Yadav presented the cheque to Singh as second instalment of the total amount of Rs 25 crores contributed by the Ministry.

The Railways had earlier contributed Rs 15 crores towards the fund, a Railway Spokesman said.

Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi also met Singh and presented Rs 10 crores on behalf of her Government towards the cause.
