Srinagar: In a fresh exchange of firing between holed up militants and security forces in Ranbir Bhawan, adjacent to the Income Tax building where fierce gun battle had taken place yesterday (Jan 7, 2005), one policeman was killed and three others injured today (Jan 8, 2005), a senior police official said.

The security forces have cordoned off the area and intermittent firing was on in which the policeman was killed, Inspector General, Srinagar, Javed Makhdoomi said.

According to the IG, the security jawans were yet to enter the building as the firing was on.
