'Questions will be raised about timing of arrest' Monday, January 10 2005 22:26 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
Congress today (Jan 10, 2005) described as "strange" the timing of the arrest of Junior Shankaracharya of Kanchi, Vijayendra Saraswati in the Sankararaman murder case by the Tamil Nadu police.
"Questions will be raised about the timing of the arrest till the police give justification about why it was not effected so far," party spokesman Abhishek Singhvi said.
Meanwhile, another party spokesman Anand Sharma, commencing on granting of conditional bail to senior Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati by the Supreme Court, said a decision of the judiciary is always acceptable to all.
