JDU announces list for Assembly polls in Jharkand

Ranchi: The Janata Dal United (JDU) today (Jan 10, 2005) announced 17 out of the 18 seats it would contest in the ensuing three-phase Assembly elections in February while its electoral partner the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) would contest in 63 in Jharkand.

Releasing the list, State unit president Inder Singh Namdhari said candidate for Sarath constituency would be announced within a day or two.

He said there would be no friendly contest.

Namdhari will seek re-election from Daltonganj while former Ministers Jaleswarh Mahto (Baghmara), Ramesh Singh Munda (Tamad) and Baijnath Ram (Latehar) would also seek to retain the Seats they won in 2000.
