A court in Kancheepuram today (Jan 10, 2005) extended till January 24 the judicial remand of Ravi Subramaniam, the second accused in the Sankararaman murder case.
Judicial magistrate-I G Uthamaraj extended the remand when Ravi Subramaniam was produced before him today.
Ravi Subramaniam had given in-camera statement under section 164 CrPC in the case on December 31.
Section 164 pertains to a statement recorded by a witness before a Magistrate.
Ravi Subramaniam was arrested on December 26. He has been placed under judicial custody in Cuddalore prison.
Police have said he was responsible for distributing the money to the assailants in the murder of Sankararaman.
The Kanchi Seer, Jayendra Saraswathi, has been cited as the main accused in the murder case.
