Tolerance of Hindu Samaj might explode, warns VHP Tuesday, January 11 2005 14:29 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Hyderabad:
Strongly condemning the arrest of junior Shankaracharya Vijayendra Saraswathi, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) today (Jan 11, 2005) warned the Tamil Nadu as well as the Central Governments that "tolerance of Hindu Samaj was put on test and it may explode if timely action to prevent assault of Hindu society was not taken immediately."
The Centre has become a mute spectator when the Tamil Nadu Government has been resorting to defame the entire Hindu Samaj, VHP Andhra Pradesh unit working president B Manikychary and general secretary T Muralidhar Rao told reporters in Hyderabad.
The sanctity of thousand-year-old Kanchi Mutt was desecrated by Tamil Nadu policemen who entered there wearing shoes, the VHP leaders said.
An emergency-like situation prevailed in Tamil Nadu and people are so afraid to talk about Shankaracharya fearing their arrest, they alleged.
Demanding immediate intervention of Central Government, VHP leaders expressed happiness on the Apex Court's decision of granting bail to Jayendra Saraswathi, which castigated Tamil Nadu police for having gathered no evidence or material against the Kanchi Seer in Sankararaman murder case.
