Essential articles for continuance of the daily pooja, including the idol of Chandramouliswarar, the presiding deity of the Shankara Mutt, have been moved to Kalavai, 40 kms away from Kancheepuram to enable the Seer of Kanchi, Jayendra Saraswathi perform pooja, Mutt officials said.
The recently appointed manager of the Mutt, Pollachi Mahadevan, told reporters that the Seer, who is to come out on bail this afternoon (Jan 11, 2005), would stay at Kalavai.
Meanwhile, Mutt officials have completed all the formalities to get the Seer released. The Mutt advocates have rushed to Vellore with all documents to secure his release.
