Jharkhand Assembly speaker quits BJP; joins RJD

Patna: RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) today (Jan 13, 2005) received a shot in the arm with Jharkhand assembly speaker and senior BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) luader Mrigendra Pratap Singh joining it.

Incensed over denial of a ticket by the BJP from Jamshedpur (west) Assembly seat, Singh announced his decision to join the RJD in the presence of its President and Railway Minister Laloo Prasad at a press conference in Patna.
