Saturday, January 15 2005 18:59 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Kalavai (TN): Material assistance from devotees continued to pour into the Mutt in Kalavai in view of the freezing of Sankara Mutt's accounts, as devotees called on the Kanchi Seer Jayendra Saraswathi, who is camping in Kalavai since his release on bail from Vellore prison on January 11.

Devotees were bringing rice among other materials this morning (Jan 15, 2005) also, on the fifth day of the Seer's stay in Kalavai.

However, devotees said that the Seer was performing his regular poojas, but continued to maintain "mouna vrata" (silence).

Meanwhile, the Shankaracharya of Karnataka's Swarnavalli Mutt, Gangadharendra Saraswathi, the first religious head who visited Jayendra Saraswathi yesterday (Jan 14, 2005), continued to remain with him and performed his own poojas.

Gangadharendra Swaraswathi is a disciple of Jayendra Saraswathi and had taken 'diksha' from him.

Superstar Rajnikant's businessman friend Hari and his family was among those who called on the Seer.

Emerging from the Mutt after 30-minutes, Hari told reporters that he had only come to have a darshan of the Seer as he was a devotee of the Mutt.
