PM briefs President on visits to tsunami-hit areas

New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today (Jan 15, 2005) briefed President A P J Abdul Kalam about his recent visits to the tsunami-hit areas of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and relief work being undertaken there.

The reconstruction of homes for the affected people for their long-term rehabilitation was the focus of their half-an-hour long discussion at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

They also discussed other matters of national and international importance, a Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesman said.
