Moderate quake again jolts the Nicobar Islands

An earthquake of moderate intensity last night (Jan 14, 2005) jolted the Nicobar Island still reeling from the killer tidal waves.

The quake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale hit the Island at 21:52 hrs (IST) Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

The quake had 9.3 latitude in the North and 93.3 longitude in the East, it added.
