Kancheepuram: Several functionaries of the Kanchi Kamokoti Mutt in Kancheepuram, including its Manager-in-charge Mahadeva Iyer and accountant Ramamurthy, were summoned for interrogation by the special investigating team (SIT) probing the Sankararaman murder case.

Police said that Mahadeva Iyer was summoned for interrogation about the property of the Mutt.

Mahadeva Iyer took charge as the manager only on January 7, after the arrest of Sundareswara Iyer on December 24 in connection with Sankararaman murder and Radhakrishnan assault cases.
