Kancheepuram: Three Mutt officials, including its newly appointed manager Mahadeva Iyer, were today (Jan 15, 2005) questioned by the special police team probing the Sankararaman murder case and Radhakrishnan assault case.

The questioning lasted for nearly three hours.

The others questioned were a Mutt accountant Ramamurthi and Mani, an official of the Kamakshi temple and trustee of Kanchi Gatikasramam Trust.

Mahadeva Iyer was appointed after Sundaresa Iyer was arrested by the special team on December 24 in the murder case.

Meanwhile, there were rumours that Tamil Nadu Government was planning to bring in an ordinance to take over the Mutt.

Asked about this a lawyer said anything could be said only after the issue of ordinance.
