New Delhi: A Pakistani national who was allegedly involved in spying activities in India was arrested in New Delhi, police said today (Jan 17, 2005).

Mohammad Azhar Rafiq was apprehended by the Special Cell at a courier shop near New Delhi railway station last evening when he was booking "incriminating documents" to send to Bangladesh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Ashok Chand told reporters.

Rafiq, a resident of Rahmiyar Khan in Pakistan's Punjab province, had illegally entered India via Bangladesh in 2001 and had settled in Mumbai under an assumed name Sarang Ali Khan.
