The CPI-Maoist (Communist Party of India) yesterday (Jan 17, 2005) threatened to intensify "guerilla warfare" to enforce its poll boycott call in Bihar and Jharkhand in February.
Bihar-Jharkhand Special Area Committee of the dreaded outfit in a press release in Patna called upon the people to boycott the three-phase poll in Bihar and neighbouring Jharkhand.
It also threatened to step up its "guerila warfare" to enforce the call.
The CPI (Maoist) naxalites had recently triggered a landmine blast in which police Superintendent K C Surendra Babu and five other policemen were killed in Bihar's Munger district.
The naxalites are also alleged to have killed CPI-ML (Communist Party of India-Marxist-Leninist)-Liberation MLA Mahendra Singh near Bagodar in Jharkhand.
