Kancheepuram: A court today (Jan 18, 2005) granted one-day police custody to the junior Seer Vijayendra Saraswathi, arrested in connection with the Sankararaman murder case.

Judicial magistrate-I, G Uthamaraj, granted police custody for the Seer from 1700 hrs (IST) today to 1700 hrs (IST) tomorrow (Jan 19, 2005).

The Police had sought five days custody saying there was a necessity to question the junior Acharya under police custody.
