Court notice to Advani will be fought legally: BJP
Wednesday, January 19 2005 11:13 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) yesterday (Jan 18, 2005) said the matter relating to issuance of court notice to its president L K Advani in the Ayodhya demolition case would be fought legally.

"It is a legal matter and will be fought legally," party General Secretary and spokesman Arun Jaitley said when asked about BJP reaction to issuance of notice by Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court to Advani for his appearance on February 25.

The court issued the notice after CBI and former Faizabad District Magistrate R N Srivastava filed a criminal revision petition.

CBI had earlier decided not to challenge the May, 2001 order of the Special trial court of Lucknow dropping proceedings against 21 respondents, including Advani and Joshi in the demolition case.

Asked about the change of stance by CBI, Jaitley said that the investigating agency "will have a lot to answer in the court".
