Paul urges Asians to do more for tsunami relief
Friday, January 21 2005 19:36 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

London: Appreciating India's management of relief operations after the tsunami disaster, NRI industrialist Lord Swraj Paul has said the Asian community in Britain, which gave a spontaneous response to the tragedy, was welcome "to do more" to help the victims.

Paul, whose company Caparo Group contributed Rs One Crore for relief work in India, congratulated the Government of India for not only managing its own relief operations in the affected areas in the country, but also extending timely aid to neighbouring countries.

Speaking at London Mayor Ken Livingstone's annual reception to the Asian business community last night (Jan 20, 2005), Paul said he was happy to see the "spontaneous response" from people of Britain, particularly from the Asian community, to the tragedy in which some 220,000 people perished.

How you can help Tsunami Victims

"Anything more you can do will be most welcome," said Paul, British Ambassador for Overseas Business.
