Mumbai:
The city police today (Jan 24, 2005) filed chargesheet against Anees Ibrahim, brother of Pakistan-based don Dawood Ibrahim, and three others in the Gutka case, charging them under a stringent law of Maharashtra even as the prosecution urged a special court for permission to make further investigations in this case.
However, the chargesheet did not include in the list of the accused, the names of Rasiklal Manikchand Dhariwal, owner of 'Manikchand Gutka', and Jagdish Joshi, owner of 'Goa
Gutka', against whom non-bailable warrants have been issued by the special court to appear for questioning by police.
In response to the warrants issued by the court, the Interpol in Delhi has issued Red Corner notices against Dhariwal and Joshi who are reportedly in foreign countries due to business assignments, police sources said.
Police chargesheeted four persons, Jamiruddin alias Jambo, Rajesh Panchariya, Anees Ibrahim and Farooq Mansoori. Anees and Farooq are absconding while the other two are in custody.
