M'rashtra stampede: Deshmukh announces ex-gratia

Wai (Maharashtra): Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today (Jan 25, 2005) announced an ex-gratia of Rs One lakh to the kin of the deceased in the stampede at Mandradevi temple in Wai.

"An ex-gratia of Rs One lakh to the kin of deceased and Rs 25,000 to the seriously injured would be given," Deshmukh told reporters during his visit to the Civil Hospital in Wai.

The Chief Minister further said Rs 10,000 will be given to those having minor injuries.

Earlier Deshmukh, along with Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil, State Water Resource Minister (Krishna), Ramraje Nimbalkar and Satara Guardian Minister Dilip Walse-Patil visited the site of stampede.
