Barely six days after kidnapping of Kislay Komal, a student of Delhi Public School, Patna, yet another boy of a public school in Biharsharif was abducted by unidentified persons in Bihar's Nalanda district yesterday (Jan 25, 2005), police said.
Ravi Kant, a student of ninth standard in DAV Public School in Biharsharif town, was kidnapped when he was proceeding to board the school bus, police said.
As Ravi Kant could not be traced till the evening, his family members lodged an FIR with Biharsharif town police station in this connection.
Police intensified search for the boy, who was the son of a farmer.
The incident took place close on the heels of the kidnapping of the 12-year-old student of DPS, Patna, Kislay by unidentified gunmen on January 19.
All private schools remained closed in Bihar yesterday as students launched a relay fast in the state capital and urged the President, A P J Abdul Kalam, to intervene and secure Kislay's release.
The students also decided to boycott all cultural programmes on Republic Day and stage a demonstration before Raj Bhavan on January 28 if Kislay was not freed by then.
