S M Krishna condoles loss of lives at stampede

Mumbai: Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna today (Jan 25, 2005) expressed shock and grief over the loss of lives at the stampede at a temple at Wai in Satara.

In his message, the Governor said, "I am deeply grieved to know about the stampede at holy Kalubai Temple in Wai Taluka of Satara district this morning in which hundreds, most of them women and children, lost their lives and many others are injured."

"I convey my heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved families and pray for the speedy recovery of those injured in the stampede," he said.
