Cong releases second list of candidates for Bihar Wednesday, January 26 2005 17:47 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Bihar Ministers-Ashok Kumar, Mahboob Ali Kaiser and Mohammed Javed-figure in the second list of 28 Congress candidates for the next month's Assembly polls which was released by AICC (All India Congress Committee) today (Jan 26, 2005).
Kumar has been renominated from Singhia (SC), Kaiser from Simri Bakhtiarpur and Javed from Thakurganj. All the candidates announced today will face poll in the second phase.
The party has denied ticket to former Minister Sanjay Kumar Singh from Sheikhpura and has fielded Suneela Singh from there.
The party has fielded Banshmani Singh from Supaul to take on State JDU (Janata Dal United) chief Vijendra Prasad Yadav.
With today's list, Congress has announced candidates for 50 seats but would be contesting a seat less as PCC (Pradesh Congress Committee) chief Ram Jatan Sinha, who has been made a nominee, in the first phase has withdrawn from the fray.
The party has announced its intention to contest 80 seats.
The list was announced by senior leader Harikesh Bahadur who is in charge of party affairs in Bihar and Jharkhand.
Meanwhile, Bahadur also said that Mangal Singh Sinkhu will now be the Congress candidate in place of Salkhan Murmu for Jagannathpur-(SC) seat in Jharkhand.
