Even as police grope in the dark about successive abductions of three schoolboys in Bihar, yet another student of a private school is now reported to be missing.
Sumit Kumar, a class VII student of St Paul residential public school in Patna, has gone missing and efforts are on to locate him, officer in charge of Mehdiganj police station, Uday Pratap Singh said today (Jan 27, 2005).
He said that Sumit's family members informed the police this morning that he had gone to school on January 25 and had not returned till now.
"We are making frantic efforts to trace the boy but please take the initiative from your side also" Singh said while quoting the complaint filed by Sumit's guardians.
Senior Superintendent of Police N H Khan said that he had asked Deputy Superintendent of Police (Patna city) to investigate the case and take immediate steps to locate the boy.
The report of another boy missing comes close on the heels of successive kidnappings of Kislay, a student of Delhi Public School here; Dipak Kumar, student of DAV public school in Bhagalpur and Ravikant, another DAV public school student in Biharsharif town, during the past nine days.
